Originally developed for reverse vending machines in the beverage industry, the software tool detects all standard barcodes reliably and is suited for use in all industry branches. The software is optimised for use with intelligent cameras from Vision Components, particularly the Nano series – this combination provides users with a very cost-efficient complete solution.
The position of the barcode does not influence code recognition or readout: an improved search algorithm finds the barcode in any position with a ±30° deviation range, while allowing for two rotational positions. The software operates with sub-pixel accuracy and can detect even very thin lines. Moreover, the software can be used independent from lighting conditions: even barcodes with poor contrast are detected reliably. The software already features standard barcodes such as Code25, Code39, EAN-13 (GS1-13) and EAN-128 (GS1-128), and further barcodes can be easily implemented with minimal programming effort.
