Extended depth of field camera

Share this on social media:

The industrial optical systems division of Ricoh Imaging Deutschland has introduced its extended depth of field camera.

The camera is ideal for applications such as production line inspection, whereby the extended depth of field can replace multiple cameras or cameras where focus re-adjustment is needed. This results in cost reductions as well as improvements in production efficiency.

The new series of extended depth of field cameras has three models: VGA monochrome, UXGA (2 megapixel) monochrome, and UXGA (2 megapixel) colour. An extended depth of field system consists of the camera, a special lens and camera firmware adjusted to the lens used. In total there are eight lenses available with focal lengths of 8.5mm, 12mm and 35mm and different f-stops available.
