MVTec Software has opened a branch near Shanghai called MVTec Vision Technology (Kunshan) to better serve the Chinese market.

A ceremonial opening of the branch is scheduled for 3 July at the MVTec booth during Vision China Shanghai 2020. The office in Kunshan is already open for business.

MVTec has been operating in the Chinese machine vision market for more than ten years through its sales partner, Daheng Imaging.

MVTec will establish a dual distribution model in China, serving its customers through Daheng as well as directly.

Manufacturing in China is starting up again as new cases of Covid-19 in the country drop to almost zero.

MVTec's Chinese subsidiary is based in the German industrial park in Kunshan. It serves as a sales and technical support office, thereby providing closer relationships with local customer companies.

'Thanks to our long-time, successful sales partnership with Daheng Imaging, we have gained an excellent position on the market and want to join forces in strengthening this presence,' commented Martin Krumey, VP of sales at MVTec.
