Global Machine Vision Interface Standards brochure

The European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) has made the Global Machine Vision Interface Standards brochure available for download on its website http://www.emva.org/.

This important industry brochure was an international collaborative effort between the three main machine vision and imaging associations, the AIA (North America), the JIIA (Japan) and the EMVA (Europe) and their collective members. It presents vision industry interface standards, features detailed specifications on hardware and software and includes a comparison chart which can be used to facilitate the selection of the most appropriate standard for an application.

Hardware standards covered in the brochure are Camera Link, Camera Link HS, GigE Vision, USB3 Vision and CoaXPress. Software standards detailed include GenICam and IIDC2. Volunteers from each association’s standards committees and respective standards work groups along with association staff, worked to develop this brochure which is geared to support system integrators and end users of vision and imaging technology.

The EMVA has also published its 2014 market report Machine Vision in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. EMVA non-members can obtain the 53 paged pdf-report at a price of €290, plus VAT through info@emva.org.

The report covers the vision industry with more than 130 players altogether, their customers and the main applications as well as technical and commercial trends.
