Dalsa has launched a new series within its Genie line of affordable, easy-to-use, GigE Vision-compliant cameras. The Genie HC series is built for high-speed colour acquisition with excellent image quality. Typical applications for the cameras include electronic manufacturing inspection, intelligent traffic systems (ITS), and food inspection.

The Genie HC series is comprised of three high-speed, colour camera models: Genie HC640 providing up to 300fps in full resolution (640 x 480 pixels); Genie HC1024 providing up to 117fps in full resolution (1,024 x 768 pixels); and Genie HC1400 with up to 75fps in full resolution (1,400 x 1,024 pixels).

Additional features include global electronic shutter with exposure control and on-board flat-field correction to produce crisp, clear images. The GigE Vision camera acts as a single machine vision component, integrating both advanced camera and board image acquisition technologies in one small package.

All Genie cameras feature value added functionality designed specifically for imaging and machine vision applications. All features are easily accessible with Dalsa's advanced software tools. These tools deliver superior image capture, performance, and control.

Like all Genie cameras, the Genie HC series is GigE Vision compliant, transmitting data over standard CAT-5e and CAT-6 cables to distances of up to 100m.

The Genie HC cameras are supported by Dalsa's Sapera Essential software and its Genie Framework package for fast and simple camera set-up. Moreover, the Genie Framework employs Dalsa's advanced Trigger-to-Image Reliability engineering, significantly accelerating application development and deployment time by providing developers with a 360º view of the entire acquisition process.
