Basler-VC, the vision components division of Basler, experienced a substantial increase in earnings over 2006, with a 46 per cent increase in turnover to 23.29 million euros.

The introduction of 50 new camera models and various lucrative contracts for custom designed cameras, are thought to have contributed to the success. On the marketing side, Basler-VC has also increased its worldwide distribution network in Europe, the US and Asia. Marketing in Asia has been particularly beneficial, contributing around 30 per cent of Basler’s worldwide revenue.

The growth of the vision components division, which is only 10 years old, is part of the overall success of the company, which gained 16 per cent in turnover to a total value of 52.1 million euros.
