Sony appoints MVD to lead UK machine vision market expansion

Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions division has appointed MVD as a distributor for the UK and Republic of Ireland to expand the market for the company’s full range of machine vision camera modules.

With immediate effect, MVD, a Sony Vision Network Partner, becomes lead distributor for the region. Sony will be exhibiting on the MVD booth, booth 2302, at IPOT 2008, at the NEC in Birmingham next month. Sony’s latest digital machine vision cameras, including six IEEE1394.b modules, a high-end Camera Link model and a new generation of its successful smart camera range will be featured.

Also included will be Sony’s new XCD-U100/CR B&W and raw colour camera modules with UXGA resolution at 15fps, offering Sony CCD technology for incomparable image quality and superb build quality. The XCD-U100/CR forms the cornerstone of Sony’s new family of IEEE1394.b CCD digital camera modules that will range from VGA to UXGA resolutions, 15 to 90fps, and offer both colour and black and white configuration options.
