Princeton Instruments appoints sales and marketing personnel

Princeton Instruments has announced two appointments to its sales and marketing team.

Ravi Guntupalli has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales and marketing after 12 years with the company and Dr Brian Smith has joined the company’s Spectroscopy group as the applications specialist. Guntupalli has held the positions of applications scientist as well as product manager for the company’s Scientific Imaging group. He holds a degree in electronics from Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India and a masters degree in biomedical engineering.

Smith has more than 30 years’ experience as an industrial spectroscopist. He has written three books on spectroscopy and worked for many years at Spectros Associates as a spectroscopic trainer and consultant. Smith held research and development positions at AT&T Bell Labs, Xerox, and IBM. Smith graduated in chemistry from Rochester Institute of Technology, and earned his doctorate in physical chemistry from Dartmouth College, New Hampshire.
