Draka camera cable wins IBC2008 award

Draka Communications, with headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has won Best of IBC2008 Editors' Award for its BendBright-XS hybrid copper/fibre optic camera cable. Judged by the combined editorial teams behind TVBEurope magazine and the official show publication, The IBC Daily, the award is given to the most innovative new product at IBC2008, the major international broadcast conference and exhibition.

BendBright-XS technology is now an integral feature of Draka's SMPTE 311M hybrid camera cables with integrated optical fibres. This enhancement makes transmission cables for camera signals considerably more robust and suitable for today’s increasingly popular HDTV broadcasting environments

The cabling technology is suited for use, not only in the broadcast industry, but in the entire broadband segment for next generation network access, while stimulating miniaturisation trends in infrastructure. Its 'bendability' removes space constraints and simplifies handing.
