Dr Jeremy Chang has been promoted to vice president, Asia Operations, for Edmund Optics, a newly-created position. In this position, Chang will direct and coordinate the management and leadership of all manufacturing, sales, marketing, service, inventory, distribution, product development, supplier relations, finance and organisation development for all Asia operations of Edmund Optics (EO), reporting directly to Robert Edmund, the company's CEO.

'As we grow our global operations, it is critical to have regional leadership supported by effective organisational resources. Dr Jeremy Chang offers tremendous experience in business strategy, optics manufacturing, and organisation development to the entire EO Asia team. His assignment to unite our sales and operations teams while expanding our customer base into countries such as China and Taiwan is clearly an exciting but challenging endeavour,' stated Robert Edmund.

When Chang joined EO as managing director, China, in April 2005, he assumed the added responsibilities of overseeing and coordinating the start-up of EO's Shenzhen and the restructuring of the Shanghai operations, while expanding EO's market in China. In 2007, he assumed additional responsibilities, which included coordinating and overseeing strategic Asian manufacturing and sales team meetings.

'It is a very exciting time in Edmund Optics' history as we continue to expand in all aspects of our business throughout Asia. I look forward to the challenges ahead and continuing EO's tradition of providing the highest level of regionalised customer service and technical support to our customers,' commented Chang.
