Cognex has achieved an important milestone in the development of its system integrator and distributor partner programme. The Electrical Equipment Company of Richmond, Virginia, US has become the company's 400th channel partner.

The Electrical Equipment Company is a leading provider of electrical supplies and automation equipment throughout the south eastern United States.

Cognex channel partners are an international network of equipment and automation providers trained to sell, install and support Cognex machine vision products. The network consists of Cognex Automation Solution Providers (ASPs), which are locally-based suppliers providing a wide range of factory automation products to customers, and Cognex Partner System Integrators (PSIs), a network of automation experts that can provide full system integration services.

'Our unique global partner network works in parallel with the Cognex direct sales and support organisation to help us deliver the exact type and level of service that each of our customers prefers,' said Peter Neve, vice president of global marketing for Cognex. 'All of our partners are very carefully selected from the top providers in their regions. We are very pleased to welcome Electrical Equipment Company as our 400th global partner.'

Commenting on becoming a Cognex partner, Mark Fox, regional manager for Electrical Equipment Company said: 'We are very excited to be able to offer vision and ID products from the market leader to our existing customers, and to have the opportunity to expand our business by supplying Cognex products to a wide range of new customers in our region.'
