Automatica 2008 expands further

Automatica 2008, the 3rd International Trade Fair for Automation, is expected to expand on 2006's exhibition. Taking place on 10-13 June 2008 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, the biannual event focuses on assembly and handling technology, robotics, machine vision, and associated technologies.

Currently more than 31,500m² of exhibition space has been booked. 'This is an excellent achievement at this stage in preparations. It shows that Automatica 2008 is able to not only equal the success it had in 2006, but to beat it,' said Norbert Bargmann, managing director of Messe München.

Taking place in parallel with Automatica is DAGM 2008 (Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Mustererkennung), which will be held on 11-12 June 2008 in the International Congress Centre (ICM), Munich. Organised by the Department of Man-Machine Communications at the Technical University of Munich, experts from research and industry will discuss the future of industrial imaging.

Other events accompanying Automatica include the Robotik congress and Intersolar, while the Communication Area will feature panel discussions on themes focused on applications of assembly, robotics, and machine vision.
