VC4067/NIR

Vision Components has released the VC4067/NIR near infrared camera, a flexible and powerful image processing system. It is optimally suited for security tasks such as perimeter protection and access control. The camera contains an integrated high performance processor allowing it to execute all image processing routines. Measuring 110 x 50 x 35mm, the units can be integrated even in small spaces. Optional robust housings provide protection for outdoor applications.

The photosensitive technology ensures highly precise images at wavelengths up to 1,100nm. Even at a distance, image capture is effective. The camera independently runs functions such as license plate recognition and motion detection. It saves and manages test parameters, thus requiring no separate PC systems for image data processing. Users can adapt the cameras to specific requirements by means of the programming languages C and C++. Optional software libraries for many applications, such as motion detection and face recognition, are available.

The compact vision system analyses several images in parallel and transmits the data in real-time. Featuring an integrated 400MHz processor from Texas Instruments, the VC4067/NIR has a computing power of 3,200MIPS. The 2/3-inch CCD sensor has a 1,280 x 1,024 pixel resolution, providing a maximum frame rate of 14fps and a freely programmable exposure time from 5µs to 17s. The camera is equipped with RS232 and Ethernet interfaces and an external trigger input that enables jitter-free image capture even at high reading frequencies. Standard configuration also includes four digital PLC inputs and four outputs and an SXGA video output.
