TMX series of COTS cameras

Adimec, a world leader in application-specific, leading-edge industrial camera solutions, introduces the expanded TMX series of rugged COTS cameras for the global security market to include global shutter CMOS image sensor-based versions.

The TMX74-60c/CL camera is the first rugged global shutter full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) daylight camera with GS-CMOS technology. It provides excellent color imaging from low to high light scenes with optimal contrast reproduction using the latest generation Sony IMX174 CMOS image sensors having significant improvements in image quality and sensitivity. The camera design is focused on operational use in environmentally challenged systems with small size, low weight and low power.

The Camera Link base interface ensures easy integration with widely available frame grabbers. At Full HD resolution, the TMX74 can maintain a maximum frame rate of 60 fps or 30 fps for RGB color images.

The TMX series also includes options for a selection of CCD image sensors for alternate optical formats, and remote sensor head, cube outline, or board-level configurations. They are available in monochrome or color versions, which utilize Adimec proprietary color processing technology for unprecedented quality and clarity in real-time, changing outdoor conditions. Interfaces include Analog, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, CoaXPress, and Camera Link.  Customization is possible, although the wide variety of standard combinations meet the requirements of most programs.

All of the TMX cameras are qualified according to MIL-STD-810G to verify rugged performance.  The qualification process includes extended temperature range (-40Ž to +75Ž), EMC/EMI, vibration, acceleration, and shock testing.  Humidity, altitude, salt, and fog performance are also included. Adimec’s rugged cameras are subjected to a full acceptance test with options for thermal cycling, vibration stress, and environmental stress screening to guarantee products for the operational life.  This results in extremely low failure rates and is combined with configuration control and comprehensive obsolescence mitigation for long-term programs.

TMX cameras have been integrated in multiple new and upgrade programs in the US, Europe, and Israel for airborne payloads, situational awareness systems, and ground vehicle-based long-range observations systems, among others.  These cameras increase the detection, recognition, and identification performance while meeting the minimal size, weight, power, and cost requirements.
