Industrial Vision Days in Stuttgart to be streamed live

The countdown to VISION 2021 from 5 to 7 October is underway and the accompanying programme is a good reason to visit the trade fair at Messe Stuttgart: the main focal point of this year's accompanying programme will be the Industrial VISION Days. The innovations and new products in the industry are traditionally presented and current trends are discussed during the world's largest forum for machine vision, which is organised by the VDMA Machine Vision Association. The talk programme will generally contain everything relating to camera technology, optics, lights and illumination, 3-D, hyperspectral imaging, vision processing (embedded Vision, IPC, GPU), software and deep learning standards, applications and start-ups. The complete talk programme is now available at www.vision-fair.de/ivd-program.

Hand-picked programme containing innovations, new products and trends

"The exhibitors are eager to present trends and new products in computer vision technology in a manner that is as practical, comprehensible and entertaining as possible," says Dr. Klaus-Henning Noffz, Director New Business Development at Basler AG and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the VDMA Machine Vision Association. Visitors can look forward this year to podium discussions with first-rate participants on the latest trend topics, as well as to daily start-up pitches and a large number of presentations by exhibitors on every important area of machine vision. Two coveted industry awards will also be presented for the first time this year on the large stage: following the digital première last year, the VISION Start-up 2021 will be presented on the large stage along with the VISION Award after the presentation of the short list entries.

Latest technical developments and incentives for interesting discussions

"It is a great honor to us to be part of the Industrial VISION Days and an excellent opportunity to address a broad audience of machine vision experts," says Svorad Stolc, CTO for 3-D sensors at Photoneo. During its talk the company will provide insights into MotionCam-3D, which was presented with the renowned VISION Award in 2018 during the development phase. The audience will learn about deeper technical insights into the latest technology at first hand. For example, the different applications and application cases will be discussed in this respect. This year, Photonfocus AG will also again present innovations for 3-D machine vision: "Our MultiPeak LineFinder Tool helps during laser triangulation with a sophisticated FPGA algorithm to reliably detect the laser line, especially with multiple reflections on metallic or other difficult surfaces. Our new UV-CMOS camera in turn moves the boundaries of what has been possible to date: 3-D applications are now also conceivable here," says Marcel Pabst, Head of Sales.

"I expect VISION 2021 to produce valuable impetus for the entire machine vision industry. We also want to make a decisive contribution here," says Dr. Olaf Munkelt, Managing Director of MVTec Software GmbH. VISION 2021 will be more important than ever this year by acting as an exchange platform for a dynamic industry. MVTec Software GmbH used this approach both to design its exhibition stand and devise its talk on the topic of deep learning for the Industrial VISION Days. The objective is to provide incentives for interesting discussions. This was also confirmed by Sofia Nilsson, Strategic Product Manager at SICK AG: "During our talk we will demonstrate how our brand-new 3D camera, with an unmatched measurement speed, will provide value in a wide range of applications by stunning image quality and ease-of use. VISION is the platform for our company to obtain comprehensive and in-depth information on the latest market and technology trends." During his talk Dr. Matthias Kerschhaggl, CTO and proprietor of EVK, will provide trade visitors from the mechanical engineering and plant construction industry with insights into what opportunities AI-based data processing, sensor fusion and services can offer them in the area of application development in order to cope with current challenges such as competitive pressure, digitalisation, scalability of machine solutions or the demand for globally available services. "The exchange of information will not only stimulate the industry itself, but will also give visitors to VISION the certainty that they are meeting companies which also actually have the latest relevant machine vision solutions available for them," summarises the expert.

Messe Stuttgart will broadcast the Industrial VISION Days live and on demand for the first time for interested parties who are unable to travel to Stuttgart this year. The link for registering for the transmission of the Industrial VISION Days will be available online in the week before the start of VISION at www.vision-fair.de/industrial-vision-days.
