Vision Components has introduced a high-performance, hardware-independent OEM software package designed for integration into a wide range of surveillance systems. With a typical processing time of 30ms and a recognition accuracy of more than 96 per cent, the new Automatic Number Plate Reader (ANPR) library is fast and precise. It identifies even dirty, damaged or skewed number plates reliably.
The software can be used throughout the world, and country codes on number plates are recognised with more than 90 per cent accuracy. Weak or suboptimal lighting does not affect operation.
The software is suitable for use with Windows- or Linux-based mobile or embedded systems. Typical applications include access control, toll and speed control, traffic analysis, and management of transport fleets. An API enables integration into applications via the programming languages C/C++, .NET, Borland Delphi, Python, or C#.
