E-con Systems has launched the 5 megapixel MIPI camera board for Freescale i.MX6 processors (Wandboard). The board can stream full HD 1080p at 30fps and HD 720p at 60fps, and can record over Wi-Fi or Wired Ethernet. The i.MX6 processor has support for dual camera interfaces and can record video in various industry video encoding formats. The module can be plugged directly to the MIPI CSI-2 camera header of Wandboard through the 33-pin flex cable.
The Wandboard is a low power complete computer with multimedia capabilities based on the Freescale i.MX6 family of processors. The i.MX6 CPU family is based on ARM Cortex A-9 core and is available with single, dual and quad core versions.
The e-CAM57_MI5640_MOD comes with a 70mm flex cable that can be customised to any form or shape, so can be placed up to 100mm from the processor interface.
OmniVision‘s OV5640 CameraChip sensor has an embedded ISP. It features automatic image control functions: automatic exposure control, automatic white balance, automatic band filter, 50/60Hz automatic luminance detection, and automatic black level calibration.
