Toshiba IK-HR2D HD-CMOS camera

The new Toshiba IK-HR2D HD-CMOS camera, now available from Stemmer Imaging, features both USB and DVI outputs and full 1080p HDTV resolution. Ideally suited to microscopy and other scientific imaging applications, the camera’s USB interface eliminates the need for further hardware such as a frame grabber. The USB interface can transfer 5fps at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels or 10fps at 1,280 x 720 pixels.

The IK-HR series' progressive scan technology is the key to sharp, high-resolution images without motion artefacts while maintaining an outstanding colour composition. The 1/3-inch 16:9 colour CMOS sensor offers full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a choice of HD output formats. DVI frame rates are 60fps for 1080p and 720p and 30fps for 1080i.

Adjustable shutter speeds and gamma along with automatic and manual white balance ensures the IK-HR cameras can be configured for a wide variety of applications. The camera can be adjusted easily using the on-screen menu.

The IK-HR2's small size of only 44 x 44 x 78mm also makes it suitable for use in confined spaces in other applications involving moving objects, such as industrial imaging, broadcasting, security and monitoring.
