Owl SW1.7 CL-640 camera

Raptor Photonics has launched a new member to its family of SWIR and visible-SWIR cameras. The Owl SW1.7 CL-640 is a rugged, high sensitivity digital VIS-SWIR camera. Using a 640 x 512 InGaAs sensor from SCD, the Owl offers visible extension from 0.4µm to 1.7µm for high sensitivity imaging. The 15 x 15µm pixel pitch enables high resolution imaging.

Available with a 14-bit Camera Link output, the Owl 640 will run from 10 to 120Hz for high-speed digital video. The on-board automated gain control (AGC) allows the camera to provide clear video in all light conditions. The camera also features an on-board intelligent three point non-uniform correction (NUC) algorithm to produce high quality images.

As with all Raptor cameras, the Owl 640 is an ultra-compact, low power (<5W) camera which makes it ideal for hand-held, mobile or airborne systems. It is also very rugged, Peltier cooled and has no fan enabling integration into UAV, handheld or any electro-optic system.

The camera is suitable for a range of applications, including 860, 1,064 and 1,550nm laser line detection, active imaging, airborne payload, hand-held goggles, imaging through fog, range finding, semiconductor inspection, solar cell inspection, telecommunications and thermography.

Raptor also offers a high speed version (up to 350Hz). All come with powerful image analysis software (XCAP) and a standard Camera Link frame grabber (EPIX).
