The F-503 is the latest addition to the Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) Guppy range of ultra compact, space-saving IEEE 1394 (FireWire) cameras for industrial and scientific OEMs, system integrators and resellers. The cameras are available from Stemmer Imaging in both colour and black and white versions with a highly sensitive 2592 x 1944 (5 Megapixel) Micron/Aptina QWXGA 1/2.5-inch rolling shutter CMOS sensor.
The camera offers an external asynchronous trigger shutter and operates in 8-bit mode. At full image resolution, the AVT Guppy F-503B/C offers up to 6.5fps and is thus particularly suited for use in industrial image processing and product automation. Other features include 2x and 4x binning as well as image sub-sampling. The option to record image sequences automatically (multi-shot) or to define areas of interest (AOI) is also provided. The extensive built-in image pre-processing capabilities provide outstanding image quality, reduced image manipulation, less load on the system and higher performance overall.
Offering a cost-effective entry into high resolution digital image processing, these models offer a highly practical alternative for applications where interlaced analogue cameras and frame grabbers have traditionally been used. Integrated smart functions take over essential functions of the frame grabber. The F-503B/C can be easily integrated into existing applications thanks to its powerful and flexible API.
