Matrox Imaging has released an industrial IP67-rated camera for machine vision applications: Matrox GatorEye. The camera is designed for the harshest and most demanding environments, and was built with a sturdy, dust-proof and washable casing.

Matrox GatorEye is currently available in six sensor configurations: 640 x 480 at 110fps, 1/3-inch monochrome or colour CCD; 1,280 x 960 at 22fps, 1/3-inch monochrome or colour CCD; and 1,600 x 1,200 at 15fps, 1/1.8-inch monochrome or colour CCD. For connectivity to external devices, the camera includes an opto-coupled trigger input, strobe output, eight GPIOs and a controlled current source for driving LED illuminators directly. Finally, the camera can be powered either by 12-24V DC, which is common in industrial environments, or by Power over Ethernet (PoE), where both power and Ethernet streams share the same, single cable.
