IDS forecasting record sales

Germany industrial camera manufacturer IDS Imaging Development Systems is heading towards record sales for 2013, the company says.

IDS is predicting a 14 per cent increase in turnover for this year (the German Engineering Federation, VDMA, predicts a 5 per cent rise in 2013 for the German machine vision market). In the last six months orders at IDS saw a 33 per cent increase, with the company forecasting a significant growth for the second half of the year.

IDS says its growth is mainly based on entering new markets – geographically and application-related. The export rate saw an increase to 40 per cent in the past months compared to 32 per cent in 2012.

IDS also founded an independent company in Japan in June 2012, the IDS Imaging Company, to expand its business in Asia.
