VIUx is a software-defined camera platform from evopro systems engineering that combines machine vision, AI and PLC functionality in a single device. Based on ctrlX OS and powered by the no-code environment VISIONWEBx, the system enables users to develop inspection, identification and automation applications without extensive programming. Unlike conventional smart cameras, VIUx is designed as an open and extensible platform. Image processing, AI models, control logic, motion and communication services can run directly on the device, reducing system complexity and enabling new automation concepts. Applications range from code reading and quality inspection to AI-assisted decision-making and machine control.
VIUx is scheduled for market launch in January 2027. Preorder starts at VISION. Evaluation projects for machine builders, OEMs and system integrators are already available from November.

LUCID Vision Labs will showcase its latest machine vision cameras at VISION 2026, October 6–8 in Stuttgart, Germany, Booth 10E40. Highlights include a new Triton10 8K line scan 10GigE camera with GigE Vision 3.0, RDMA, PoE, and IP67 protection; the new Triton2 TRT034S 3.2 MP 2.5GigE NIR camera with Sony’s IMX900 sensor; recently introduced STARVIS and STARVIS 2 models across GigE, 2.5GigE, and 10GigE interfaces; and the expanded factory-calibrated Helios2 Chroma RGB-D lineup.

Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT)

Under the theme ‘From Vision to Action’, AIT will demonstrate ICI (Inline Computational Imaging) for the simultaneous 2D/3D inspection of moving objects, photometry for ultrafast inline inspection and the VISION Award-nominated portable motion-robust surface inspection platform, PHOTODEX. The company is also demonstrating a robotic inspection platform that automatically plans workflows from CAD models, and SLAM for real-time 3D environment perception, localisation and mapping.
AT Sensors
Hall 10, Booth 10E55
AT Sensors will demonstrate two new C7 portfolio products that use 5GigE to simultaneously transmit 3D profile, intensity and reflection data. Sending loss-free data in real time has “limited inline inspection for years” says the company, and “now [it’s been] solved in a single acquisition step”. Live demonstrations at the AT Sensors booth will include applications that inspect tyres, beverages and electrical components, and one that combines 3D imaging with infrared sensing to inspect smartphone components.
Edmund Optics
Hall 8, Booth 8C30
Edmund Optics will be at VISION, demonstrating a custom-optics drone application and a showcase of optical solutions engineered for harsh environments, alongside a range of other applications. Under the theme ‘Your Trusted Partner for Imaging Solutions’, the company promises to showcase how close collaboration between customers and its engineering, design and manufacturing teams results in “practical optical solutions”.
EFFILUX

EFFILUX will demonstrate how its tailored lighting products can be integrated for dimensional measurements, cap and fill-level inspection, colour and surface inspection, SWIR imaging and QR/Data Matrix reading applications on a live conveyor, and a dedicated logistics portal will showcase further identification, traceability and automated material handling applications. Sharing a booth with familial group companies CCS and Gardasoft, EFFILUX says it will “address the most demanding industrial challenges, from logistics to space technologies.”
EVT Eye Vision Technology

Demonstrating how its EyeVision software takes manufacturers from concept to application, live demonstrations at the EVT booth will feature both 2D and 3D sensors, in applications such as robot pick-and-place and 3D solder-paste inspection systems, as well as the EyeSorter Checkbox, which uses one-click teaching to identify, orient and pass or reject small parts in feeding systems. According to EVT, visitors will be able to try the software tools out themselves to understand how their own production challenges could be addressed.
Exosens

At the Exosens booth you’ll find imaging technologies ranging from UV to LWIR, with live demonstrations of industrial inspection applications such as detecting contaminants and defects in food, identifying and sorting different materials for improved recycling efficiency, thermal imaging and analysis to enhance wafer inspection in semiconductor manufacturing, UV dark-field imaging for improved defect detection and SWIR imaging applications enabled by quantum dot technology.

HAIP Solutions

A complete hyperspectral imaging workflow is due to be demonstrated by HAIP, using industrial inspection and sorting applications in the food and recycling industries as examples. The company’s BlackIndustry SWIR and RGB cameras will join forces with its BlackBright illumination systems and BlackStudio software to handle data acquisition, visualisation, analysis and classification, in a full demonstration of the BlackIndustry Station scanning system.
JAI

With 11 live demonstrations covering food, electronics, pharmaceutical, medical and print inspection applications as well as semiconductor manufacturing, recycling and material sorting, JAI’s booth could be one of the busiest of the week. Highlights include prism-based RGB/NIR multispectral imaging, UV imaging, cooled SWIR 400-1700nm cameras and SWIR line scan technology, as well as high-res line and area scan cameras with CoaXPress.
Lidwave

Lidwave will demonstrate its Odem sensor, which it says is the world’s first single-chip coherent 4D lidar, designed to provide both range and per-pixel velocity in a single frame for robotics, drone, automotive and industrial automation applications. Based on its patented Finite Coherent Ranging technology, the system puts the optical engine onto a single silicon photonics chip in a monostatic design, which Lidwave says enables calibration-free, wafer-scale production and high-speed perception, even in challenging conditions such as glare, rain, fog, dust and snow.
LUCID Vision Labs

New GigE Vision cameras spanning high-res line scan, NIR, low-light and RGB-D imaging will be demonstrated by LUCID Vision Labs. The Triton, Triton 2 and Triton 10 models all feature Sony’s STARVIS and STARVIS 2 sensors for applications including automated optical inspection, material sorting and grading, print and surface inspection, food sorting, automated logistics, barcode reading and robotics. The company’s Helios 2 Chroma cameras, which it says improve spatial awareness and material handling for robotics and outdoor 3D imaging applications, will also be on show.
MVTec Software

MVTec Software will demonstrate how AI is extending machine vision beyond traditional image processing techniques. Highlighting the company’s AI Vision Solver, a prototype product that uses AI agents to generate vision applications from prompts, the company says it will present a glimpse into the future of product development. Visitors to the booth will also get to see hardware accelerators from Qualcomm, Nvidia, Intel and AMD running deep learning systems and preview new software features from HALCON and MERLIC.
Optotune

Using a robotic arm/turntable application, Optotune will demonstrate electronically focus-tunable lens modules (ELMs), showing how liquid lens technology can add flexibility to machine vision systems and a combined ELM/adaptive mirror will also demonstrate how field-of-view can be expanded for dynamic barcode reading in logistics applications. According to Optotune, visitors will learn how technologies such as liquid tunable prisms and adaptive mirrors can be applied to applications such as optical image stabilisation, lidar and free-space communications.

photonicSENS

photonicSENS will demonstrate its VISION Award-shortlisted industrial light-field cameras, which capture a full 2D image and 3D depth map simultaneously in a single shot, without structured light or scanning. Live demonstrations will include applications such as wire-bond inspection, telecentric-lens 2D measurement and XYZ stitching for larger 3D parts. The company will also introduce its new apiCAM EDGE+ global-shutter module, which doubles the working range of its standard EDGE camera, reducing captures and inspection cycle times.
Pleora
Hall 8, Booth 8B02
Pleora will showcase new connectivity solutions including Camera Link-to-GigE Vision 10GigE and RoCEv2 frame grabbers, as well as an SDI-to-GigE Vision frame grabber and a GigE Vision-to-Thunderbolt model, but the company’s key demonstration will feature its Multisensor Edge Integration Platform, which brings cameras together with lidar, ToF and other sensors into a unified perception pipeline. According to Pleora, the approach reduces software complexity, improving interoperability for applications such as industrial automation, robotics and medical imaging.
Sightwise

Used for synthetic data generation and AI model development, Sightwise’s flagship SightHub platform will be the main focus of its booth, where visitors will be able to see the company’s latest approach to obtaining synthetic training data from 3D CAD models and generative AI. Aimed at reducing the time and manual effort spent on image annotation and dataset preparation tasks, Sightwise says SightHub makes it easier to scale inspection tasks across larger product portfolios, shortening time-to-value and improving model performance.
Singular Photonics

The star of the Singular Photonics booth will no doubt be the VISION Award-shortlisted image sensor Litavis. With High Dynamic Range, Single Photon Counting and Lidar/ToF modes, Singular will highlight the SPAD-based sensor’s configurable sensing architecture and in-pixel processing. According to the company, Litavis moves SPAD technology beyond conventional photon counting and towards more flexible, time-resolved computational imaging. Visitors to the booth’s live demonstrations will get to see for themselves.
Spectricity

At Spectricity’s booth, you’ll see the company’s new S1-A Evaluation Kit for multispectral imaging. According to the developers, the upgraded device is available in one of two packages: the Discover package supports handheld capture for Android devices, capture and analysis with Spectricity’s GUI for Windows and Mac and automated acquisition via Python. The Develop package is for users to develop their own mobile applications, with access to the Android SDK and application examples. The company will also demonstrate its Chromatope SC-400 for Colorimetry, for which more information can be found in the VISION Products Guide on page 18.
Teledyne Vision Solutions

Two particular highlights from Teledyne will be a live demonstration of its 100Gb/s imaging platform that combines a Sony CMOS image sensor in a Teledyne camera with a frame grabber and CoaXPress interface, and a 5D camera that synchronises 2D imaging with 3D depth data using a single CMOS sensor. Visitors will also be able to explore the company’s SWIR, global-shutter BSI, 3D laser profiler and compact thermal imaging portfolio for applications such as semiconductor, battery and print inspection, as well as robotics, food processing, logistics, metrology, automotive, aerospace, medical and life sciences.
Vision & Control
Hall 10, Booth 10B87
Vision & Control produces integrated photonics solutions that combine optics, illumination and image processing, and these will be on show at the company’s booth with two live demonstrations focusing on complex-surface defect detection and high-speed vision for accurate inspection at high production speeds. The company’s telecentric illumination system, for precision measurements and inspections, will also be on display, alongside custom-designed optical systems.
