CMOSVision's X8-4K70 and X8-8K35 line cameras are FPGA based high-performance, high-speed smart line scan cameras. The cameras have 4,096 and 8,192 pixel resolutions respectively and can both deliver up to 40k lines per second.
The smart line cameras allow in-field firmware updates via a USB 2.0 interface. This enables firmware update requests to be performed in the field, without having to recall the camera. The FPGA allows users to program their imaging applications into the camera. CMOSVision can also do this for the user, or customise the camera, for example to support a specific application.
Features include: 8- or 16-bit per pixel, LabView and Windows drivers, 4M FPGA gates free for user blocks, and F-mount. A 16k pixel resolution USB and Camera Link line camera will be available in Q4 2010.
