Hitachi DI-SC221

The Hitachi HD DI-SC221 that features a 2 megapixel CMOS sensor is now available from Premier Electronics. The camera combines the DSP10 digital signal processor with a CMOS sensor and has a 20x optical and 12x digital lens.

The DI-SC221 features auto and on/off defog, the camera processing each pixel for fog thickness in real time and applying contrast to the image to offer an enhanced image. The 20x zoom function is combined with Hitachi’s auto focusing system to track subjects and capturing HD images.

The camera takes a two-step approach to avoid white-out or loss of dark detail in the images. This involves using a composite of images captured at two different shutter speeds, while the second step uses a contrast offset that corrects the contrast. The Enhanced Intensity function brightens dark areas while leaving bright areas as they were.

The DI-SC221 has dimensions of 50 x 60 x 89.5mm, weighs 260g, and is designed for PT domes, security, surveillance and defence.
