Pleora's iPort NTx-Ten IP engine

Available from Framos, Pleora’s iPort NTx-Ten IP engine is a high-performance video transmitter that provides designers of industrial cameras and other imaging systems with the ability to transmit images at over 8Gb/s. Built on industry-standard 10 GigE technology, the NTx-Ten IP engine ensures fast time-to-market and compatibility with the GigE Vision specification.

It is ideal for ultra-high-performance applications such as semiconductor, flat-panel, web and other quality inspection systems, as well as medical imaging and military imaging. The IP engine converts video data to IP packets efficiently which are then sent with low, consistent latency over a 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GigE) link to the receiving software. The IP engine is fully compatible with the GigE Vision and GenICam standards, ensuring seamless interoperation in multi-vendor deployments, as well as environments where GigE Vision is used over both 1 and 10 GigE links.

The IP engine transports the imaging data over industry-standard copper or fibre-based links via an SFP+ (small form-factor pluggable) connector, and thus can be connected easily to off-the-shelf 10 GigE components like network cards and switches.

Signals from system elements, connected to the engine’s GPIO (general purpose inputs and outputs) allow the user to synchronise and control the operation of conveyors, encoders, cameras, sorting mechanisms, and other components.

Compatible with Pleora’s feature-rich application toolkit, the eBus SDK, the iPort NTx-Ten IP engine enables a cost-effective development of network-based high-performance cameras and other imaging devices.
