Flir Systems makes senior appointments

Following Flir Systems' appointment of Andrew Teich as its president and chief executive officer, Thomas Surran is now president of the commercial systems division and Jeffrey Frank has been promoted to the new role of global product strategy vice president.

Frank has over 25 years of experience in the infrared industry and was most recently product strategy vice president for the commercial systems division. Both Surran and Frank joined Flir in 2004 when the company acquired Indigo Systems. Surran, in addition to his previous role as the company's Raymarine segment general manager, has served in several roles at Flir, including chief financial officer of the commercial systems division.

‘We are pleased to add Tom and Jeff to our executive staff,’ said Teich. ‘Tom has a proven ability to execute with vision and control, which we saw in his advancement of our maritime businesses. Jeff has been a driving force in new product conceptualisation, development, and industrial design.’

Flir commercial systems’ products include cameras for fire fighting, law enforcement, optical gas imaging, automation and process control, border security, science, and research and development.
