EMVA business conference to meet in Turkey

This year's EMVA business conference will take place in Istanbul, from 16-17 April. The programme will consist of four different thematic sessions focused on machine vision in Turkey, business trends, machine vision markets and technology trends.

In the session 'machine vision in Turkey' attendees will gain an insight into the Turkish economy, and what prospects, opportunities and challenges there are in the country. In addition, an example of successful outsourcing of camera design to Turkey will be presented. Further presentations will give an overview of the Turkish machine vision industry and how it is increasingly applied in the manufacturing sector.

The business trends session will offer a panel discussion on research opportunities in Europe. Furthermore, the attendees can expect a motivational speech on leadership post economic crisis by Mark McGregor. The former Canadian ice-hockey player and internationally renowned business coach will share his wide range of experiences and strategies.

The machine vision markets session will place emphasis on the North American, the Japanese and the European markets. Attendees will receive information on business development and current figures, not previously presented.

Finally, the technology trends session addresses the opportunities service robotics offer for machine vision and how augmented reality, robotic co-workers and intuitive interaction require machine vision to revolutionise production.

Since its beginning in 2003 the well-established EMVA conference has attracted numerous attendees from all over the world, professionals, executives, experts and analysts of the machine vision industry. The last conference united participants from more than 20 countries and a similar spread is expected for this year's conference.

Networking opportunities will begin with the get-together on Thursday evening in the Taksim area. The conference dinner on Friday evening will take place at the Adile Sultan Palace overlooking the Bosphorus. An optional guided walking tour of the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Hagia Sofia will conclude the conference on the Saturday afternoon.
