Living Optics: spectral imaging at video speeds

Living Optics cameras offer spectral sampling at video speeds. Early prototypes were the size of three shoe boxes and were created during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic (Image: Nick Rochowski - rochowski.net)
Start-ups sometimes struggle to source funding, develop a product and secure a market, but Living Optics seems to have found itself on something of a fast-track.
Launching at Photonics West 2024, the company had spent the pandemic fine-tuning its idea and coming up with something truly innovative. There are now three core pillars to the Living Optics proposition: spectral imaging at video speeds; an all-in-one solution (its portable cameras have the compute power and tools to capture and analyse spatial-spectral information) and a solution that is developer-ready.
