Active Silicon will demonstrate its Harrier SDI adapter and its VPU embedded vision system.

The SDI adapter is a host-end acquisition solution that converts 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and HD-VLC inputs to USB 3.0 and HDMI outputs. Compatible with Active Silicon’s Harrier interface boards for Tamron and Sony AFZ block cameras, the HD-VLC decode mode allows very long length cable applications, such as pipe inspection and remote monitoring, plus the use of multiple slip rings.

The company will also be showcasing its USB3 Vision Processing Unit, demonstrating simultaneous acquisition and display from four USB3 Vision cameras. The USB3 VPU has been designed for industrial and medical use. With standard PC interfaces available, this embedded system can be readily adapted for many applications.

Finally, Frans Vermeulen, head of sales and marketing, will present HD digital video in robotics, offering guidance on which technology and hardware will provide the best combination for robot vision systems.
