National Instruments has appointed Robert Morton as UK and Ireland managing director. Morton joined NI in the UK in 1994 as part of the Engineering Leadership Programme (ELP) after graduating with a first class degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester.
Morton started at NI in the Inside Sales department, before moving into the applications engineering team, and then on to a role in field sales. Throughout eleven successful years in field sales, Morton has developed his considerable knowledge and experience of NI technologies, markets and customers. He has progressed from a field sales engineer managing a sales territory through to managing field sales and systems engineering teams, and playing a leadership role as a member of the UK and Ireland management team.
Morton succeeds Ajit Gokhale, who is taking up a position as international sales manager, continuing to work closely with Morton and the UK management team to ensure a smooth transition and to support the future success and growth of the UK and Ireland operation. 'I am excited about this new opportunity to contribute to the success of NI here in the UK and Ireland,' said Morton, 'and I look forward to leading and continuing to work with the talented UK and Ireland team. I remain personally committed to ensuring customer success, which drives growth and provides challenging and enjoyable careers for employees.'
